Health Journeys
It has been a somewhat challenging week in the Schleppington household. Aubrey had to have a biopsy to make sure that her continuing peeing problem was not lymphoma, which is apparently something it could have been. As it turns out, it was just the canine equivalent of IBS, so we will just have to put her on a special diet, fill her up with pills, and give her a weekly vitamin injection. Compared with the alternative, this passes as good news. And I'm excited for our free training course on giving injections; I feel like this could be the start of a whole new career for me. But now we have to keep an eagle eye on Miss A so that she does not resort to lick, lick, licking of her incision. We considered one of those cones, but it did not go with her outfits.
I also came down with a horrific cold and sinus infection this week, to the point that I found myself at the Target Minute Clinic begging for mercy early this Wednesday morning. (I also picked up some remaindered Halloween candy while I was there, so the trip was extra productive.) I've had mixed results with these walk-in clinics before, but I was definitely impressed with their willingness to hand out drugs. (Kind of like trick-or-treating, come to think of it.) Still, there were several sleepless nights this week, which was great for my Candy Crush progress, but little else.
There is much good news this weekend, though, since I am on the mend and Aubrey will just be one of those individuals with annoyingly complicated orders at restaurants. We will take what we can get.
