TV Land

Our TV viewing definitely slowed this summer as we, like, actually left the house and did stuff, but we watch a few things. Mainly, there was a lot of Housewives. Having thrilled at the madness of Miami seasons 4 and 5, we went back and filled in the much more boring back catalogue. It did give us a certain insight into how the monster that is Adriana came to be created, and also into Alexia's gay husband, but it was not exactly a romp. And Lea Black's laugh haunts my dreams. We've also been watching the rebooted New York, which is surprisingly light and pleasant. It's nice not to have to spend so much time worrying about Sonja's mental health, and Jenna Lyons is a god damned national treasure. And now Salt Lake is restarting, which so far seems like a rebound from last season's unsolved black eye mystery and general boringness. I can't say if Mary Cosby is a cult leader or not, but either way her commentary on these crazy white ladies is a huge asset. And her habit of filming in her giant closet.

Beyond that, we watched the final season of The Other Two, which was funny but maybe a little too messagey for me this time around. We also did the most recent season of Black Mirror; I thought it was kind of uneven, though Annie Murphy and Salma Hayek ended up being the comedy pairing we didn't know we needed. And Beef. Did I already mention Beef? We liked it a lot. Funny, plotty, interestingly dramatic at points. So yeah.

I love that I said we haven't watched that much TV and then I name like ten thousand things we watched. And this isn't even including like the random Castle viewings that tend to pop up occasionally during the week. Or the Lifetime movies. Clearly, we are in need of help.
