Time Flies

Somehow it is mid March! I'm certainly not lamenting the winter months moving by quickly, but I am kind of blown away by it. It seems like just yesterday I was stocking up on firewood and chunky sweaters. Now I probably need to think about spring cleaning and getting our outdoor plants in in the next few weeks. Although this being Chicago, we will undoubtedly have a horrible cold snap or two before we actually end up in anything truly resembling spring. And then the next day it will be 1000 degrees out. Not known for our hospitable climate.

I have to admit I've not done quite as much of my usual winter activities this year. I've only got about one and a half books read, and maybe a dozen records listened to. And I have not played Civilization even a single time, which is probably a good thing from an addictive behavior standpoint, but certainly unusual. There has not been a significant amount of binge watching, that I recall. Although the Samsung TV channels have continued to get a solid working out in the background. Unsolved Mysteries remains evergreen.

When I ask myself what I have been doing with all this time, one kind of disappointing answer is work. There has been a fair amount of that. And I doubt anyone wants to hear about my triumphs filing six dispositive motions in a single day, though of course that is everyone's loss. Fortunately, there's also been some travel and some time spent on creative ventures in the mix. Now I can have a dozen New Orleans recommendations for people like everyone else seems to. (The legal conference catering menu was lit, btw.) And I can continue to annoy people by promoting my shows. And by starting sentences with "and," which I've done probably a half dozen times in this post. Don't try to change me, people. I'm a rebel.
